The 25-person limit currently included in the Public Health Orders that go into effect on June 26, 2021 only includes athletes. Coaches, managers, safety officers and umpires are not included in the 25-person limit.
So, an outdoor sport activity can include 25 athletes, plus coaches and officials. In addition to the group of 25 participants you are allowed up to 25 spectators, physically distanced by at least 2 metres, as per the outdoor gathering size limit for public spaces.
See further clarification on Gathering Sizes below.
Minor Division Leagues:
Effective June 26, 2021 all Minor Leagues are allowed to have team practices (no exhibition games). Participants at practices are to follow Softball Manitoba’s current Return to Play (RTP) document and the total number of persons allowed on the diamond is limited to 25 players.
Spectators/Guardians are to maintain physical distancing while in attendance. The “practice only” stipulation will remain in effect until July 5, 2021, we are hoping to have a complete definition as to game play and spectator attendance from Sport Manitoba and the Province by that time.
Effective June 26, 2021 all Adult Leagues will be permitted to hold single games (no tournaments) as long as the total number of participants and spectators does not exceed 25 persons at a diamond. Participants are to follow Softball Manitoba’s current Return to Play document.
ALL Leagues are responsible for ensuring that their teams follow the RTP, if a league wishes to add additional requirements to their league play (wearing of masks, more frequent sanitization, etc.) they are free to do so.
